The hippies were essential gadflies, the reason being they protested anything they believed was wrong. Many protested anything they believed was wrong. Many protests were held in San Francisco. Many hippies listened to psychedelic rock and went to go a concert called Woodstock as a form of rebellion and civil disobedience against the establishment. Hippies fought strongly against the establishment, but during the time of the Vietnam War, many of them were drafted and went to war;later when they returned they joined the establishment and joined them.
